    • There are 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on the scalp, and it is considered normal to lose an average of 100 hairs per day.

What is the Hair Growth Cycle, How Does It Work?
Hair is just like people. They are born, grow and die. You can see them at the summit, you can also witness their weakening. Although it is annoying sometimes; Hair loss is a result of the natural growth cycle. To understand at what point you should panic, it will be enough to know the hair growth cycle. The growth cycle of the hair; It consists of three phases: anagen , catagen , and telogen . Each hair follicle cyclically goes through these stages:
    Anagen Phase:
It is the most productive age of hair. The anagen phase is the growth phase of hair. It forms the first and longest step of the hair growth cycle. The anagen phase can last for about 2 to 8 years. About 85% of the hair on the scalp is in this phase. androgenetics in alopecia The anagen phase gradually becomes shorter and a finer hair structure begins to be observed. In other words, although the hair follicles do not disappear, they produce more lifeless and thin hair. For this reason, androgenetic , which is the most common type of hair loss in the world, in the treatment of alopecia ; Working on formulas that will prolong the anagen phase.
    Catagen Phase:
Catagen phase , which is considered as the transitional phase in the hair growth cycle, is the shortest of all phases. It only takes a few weeks. We can also describe this phase as the resting phase of hair follicles. In this phase, the hair follicle shrinks to one third of its anagen size. It is a period when hair growth stops. This means: You should not expect your hair to grow more than catagen .
    Telogen Phase:
Telogen phase is the hair loss phase. It is part of the natural cycle. An average of 25 to 100 strands of hair can be shed per day in the telgogene phase. 15% of the hair on the scalp is in the telogen phase and this phase lasts for about 3-4 months.
Does the same cycle apply to other body hairs?
Anagen phase, which we describe as the active growth phase, is shorter in hairs located in other parts of the body . For this reason, other body hairs do not grow as long as hair.
    What Factors Inhibit Anagen Phase?
The growth phase of the hair; It can be affected by diseases, malnutrition, strict diet programs, hormonal disorders, stress and similar external factors. These conditions, which lead to a decrease in the activity of hair follicles; In the anagen stage, they are an obstacle to healthy hair growth.
Does Age Affect the Hair Growth Cycle?
The most productive period of hair growth is between the ages of 15 and 30. Between the ages of 40 and 50, the anagen phase begins to decline. This may result in permanent hair loss in genetically predisposed individuals.
